When I finished my studies and started working in fabrication shops, I realized that classroom learning and real industrial work are very different. That is why ITI students must focus on practical skill development.

In ITI Welder training we learn:

  • Basic welding theory
  • Electrode types
  • Safety rules
  • Basic welding positions

But in real work, welders must deal with:

  • Different metal thickness
  • Welding positions
  • Industrial safety rules
  • Welding inspection standards

During my early days in the fabrication shop, I learned something important welder value depends on two things:-

  1. Practical welding skill and 
  2. Ability to follow welding procedures

Welding Processes all ITI Students Know

Today Modern industries use different welding processes depending on the project requirement some important welding processes include.

1.Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

This is one of the most common welding processes used in fabrication shops. In SMAW welding, an electrode rod creates the arc and melts to form the weld metal.
